The Irish Film & Television awards took place last night at the Mansion House celebration Irish talent throughout the TV and film industry. The star-studded event saw Irelands top actors, directors, presenters and much more step out on the red carpet in their best fashions with dresses from a range of Irish and UK designers. From Lisa Cannon to Miriam O’Callaghan, the IFTA red carpet showcased the best Irish style from the top stars.
The nation’s sweetheart, Amy Huberman took to the red carpet last night in a vintage tulle gown with polka-dot detailing. Huberman accessorised with berry tones, seen through her jewellery and clutch, adding colour to the (almost) vintage wedding dress style. The vibrancy and quirkiness of the dress suits well with Huberman’s fun personality which helps her pull off this look.
A vision in white, Miriam O’Callaghan stepped out in a classic white dress. A classic cut dress is Miriam’s signature style, which always proves well for the RTE presenter. The all over detailing on the dress works well as it helps to disguise any lumps and bumps while keeping the figure hugging cut. Miriam styled her hair down giving the look a summer, care-free feel.
The former Xposé presenter and current Saturday and Sunday AM host stunned in red on the IFTA red carpet. The elegant, figure-hugging dress showed off Cannon’s curves perfectly and with her sleek dark locks added a summer goddess feel to the look. This tomato red worked perfectly with Cannon’s warm skin tone and will be a huge colour trend for SS17.
Deirdre O ‘Kane
IFTA host, Deirdre O’Kane choose a drop-waist dress for the red carpet. The contrast between the black and the mauve created a focal point at her waist with a pop of colour with her accessories. The drop-waist dress has been a fan favourite for celebrities over the past years with it been seen on Hollywood’s top celebrities. However, unless you have long legs, stay clear from this dress at the proportions can shorten your length even more.
Actress Charleigh Bailey was pretty in pink on the red carpet last night opting for a midi-length pink dress with frill detailing. Dressing perfectly for her age, the look was young and fun – a definite best-dressed look. Bailey paired the dress with ballet heels bringing in those soft pink tones to complete the look.
Fair City actress and Dancing with the Stars contestant, Denise McCormack chose a classic look for the red carpet wearing a cream dress with floral detailing. Accessorising with a classic red lip and minimal accessories, the star looked sophisticated and stylish at the high-brow event.
