Belted Silhouettes

Belts were a huge trend on the runway this season with many designers using belts to contrast with bulky, androgynous silhouettes to create a more feminine shape. While the belted coat, has been popular for some time, designers such as No 21 has made the move of using belts on bomber jackets to achieve a similar shape.

Shoulder Pads

Since the 80s, shoulder pads have come back into fashion a number of times, and it looks like they are about to make a huge comeback in AW17 with acclaimed high fashion houses such as Gucci and Armani utilising the shoulder pad to create a futuristic shape. Androgyny has been a huge trend over the past seasons, and shoulder pads have become a sub-trend of it due to the visual creation of a masculine, less feminised silhouette.
